Frequently Asked Questions

1. When is Check in and check out?
       Check in starts at 4pm and checkout is by 10am.
       Please call us if you require a late check in.

2. How do I get to the resort?
       Driving directions are available here on the website.

3. Are pets allowed at the resort?
       Sorry no. Haliburton Heights has a no-pet policy.

4. Are baby-sitting services available?
       Yes you may hire babysitters to come right to your door. There is an
       additional charge for this service. Children of all ages are welcome. Please
       call to inquire about the current rates. During peak family vacation time
       Wigamog Inn Resort offers supervised children’s programs at a nominal
       daily rate. There is even a nightly Kid’s Dinner program – this is a real
       delight for parents!

5. What is the beach like?
       Along Lake Kashagawigamog there is over 1000 feet of safe sandy beach
       area with a gradual slope.

6. Can we bring our own personal watercraft?
       You are welcome to bring your own watercraft to the resort. Please note,
       however, that docking space is very limited and cannot be reserved in
       advance. There is an on-site launch available.

7. Can we rent a boat at the resort?
       We offer complimentary canoes, kayaks and paddle boats for your
       enjoyment. SeaDoos are available for rent at the Ski Shop. Also available for
       an additional charge is water skiing, tubing, wakeboarding, banana boat
       rides and pontoon boat tours of Lake Kashagawigamog.

8. Do you have a pool?
       There are 3 pools for your enjoyment at the resort (1-indoor, 2-outdoor).
       We also have a sauna, indoor whirlpool and 2 outdoor hot tubs for you to
       relax in.

9. Is there any fishing in the area?
       The Haliburton Highlands has some of the best fishing available in Ontario.
       You can click here to visit the Haliburton County’s Fishing Chart to find the
       best areas for the fish you are looking for. Lake Kashagawigamog features
       lake trout, walleye, bass and whitefish. Ice fishing is also available in winter.
       You must purchase a fishing license from one of the many available locations
       in the county.

10. What is included in the villas?
       Depending on the type of villa you have selected (studio, one bedroom,
       two bedroom) the list of amenities will vary. Please visit the Accommodations
       section of this site for complete details about what is included in your room.

11. Do you have Spa?
       Next door to the resort is the
Wind in the Willows Spa. It is a country
       cottage day spa specializing in aromatherapy, Swedish massage, pedicures,
       manicures, facials, body waxing, heated stone therapy, acupuncture and
       much more! Operated by Sylvia Holland CAC., we are happy to refer our
       guests to her.

12. What sort of on-site entertainment do you have?
       During family vacation time and all summer long we offer nightly
       entertainment for both kids and adults at the popular Moose Bar and Grill.
       Musical artists, magicians, comedy and talent shows are just a few of the
       events offered. You can also enjoy the games room and the big screen
       TV at the Moose.

13. Can you provide cribs for infants?
       Cribs are available upon request. We suggest that you make this request,
       directly with the resort, at the time of booking. There is a nominal fee for
       this service.

14. What are the average temperatures for Haliburton?
       During the summer months the temperature generally ranges from 20 to 30
       degrees Celsius or 70-85 degrees Fahrenheit. In the winter the general
       range is from -5 to -15 degrees Celsius.

15. What is the Children’s Program about?
       The Children’s program is run by the Wigamog Inn Resort and offers seven
       different age appropriate programs ranging from infants to teens. Program
       activities vary depending on the age group but a wide range of outdoor
       activities and arts and crafts take place throughout the day. The program
       runs all summer from late June until Labour Day weekend, Christmas
       Holidays, March Break and all holiday weekends. Programs hours are
       generally from 9:00am - 12:00pm, 2:30pm - 4:00pm and 6:00pm - 8:00pm.

16. Is there any place to purchase groceries or other items?
       The town of Haliburton is less than a 10 minute drive from the resort.
       In town you will find a Garden Market IGA grocery store and many other
       stores for shopping. You will also find several family restaurants.

17. Are children allowed in the dining room?
       Yes, children are welcomed to accompany their parent’s for dining. There is
       also a Kids Dinner program in peak seasons that invites children 5 years
       and over to enjoy a supervised kid’s dinner allowing parent’s to enjoy an
       intimate dinner alone.

18. Is there any dress code for the dining room?
       The official dress code for the dining area is described as "country casual".
       Patrons must wear shoes and no cut-off shirts.

19. How many restaurants do you have?
       The resort property has 3 places to eat. The main dining room in the main
       lodge of the Wigamog Inn offers an intimate dinning atmosphere and a
       hearty country menu with spectacular views of the lake. The Moose Bar &
       Grill provides a causal pub style atmosphere and seasonal entertainment.
       The Moose Trading Post offers drinks, snacks and ice cream to kids and
       parents of all ages!
